What's an Usher?
An Usher is a recognized man or women of God who serves the church by enhancing the worship Service by the carrying out of his/her duties. As a representative of the church, he/she should be adherent in submission to the leadership of the church. He/She provides a friendly, cheerful greeting to all those who pass through his/her post and maintains order in his/her section according to the policies promulgated by the Pastor and or Board.
A Servant
A Servant of the Pastor(s), church staff, and the congregation. He/She meets their needs so "church" can be worshipful and without distractions.
A Watchman
He/She watches over the congregation in order to anticipate any needs and prevent disruptions. He/She must remember that church services are often spiritual life and death situations for some who are in attendance. Distractions could keep them from receiving what God has for them. "Everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way"

Usher's Job
An Usher performs the work of a Deacon and must meet the Scriptural qualifications of a Deacon (1 Timothy 3:1-13). Ushers report to the Head Ushers and perform their duties in accordance with instructions from Head Ushers. It is absolutely necessary that Ushers be above reproach.
The Usher Ministry will have the following components:
One Head Usher
Three Usher Captains
Ushers assigned to specific and strategic positions in the Church building.
The authority of the Usher Ministry flows from the Senior Pastor. During the Service, the performing Pastor has responsibility for the direction of the Service. The Usher Captain in charge of that Service will respond to the requests and directions of the Pastor, who may utilize the ushering team present in any manner he deems appropriate.
The Greeter Ministry

The greeter's main duty is to warmly welcome the members and visitors, always being aware of the visitor and their openness to a Christian greeting. The greeter should be dressed in clean, acceptable attire for representing the church. The greeter should introduce new visitors to the usher on duty to properly escort the visitors to the sancturay.
