God's Unfailing Love - Part 4
The World’s Love is Conditional - God’s Love is Not
Human love can be amazing—but it often comes with fine print:
“I’ll love you if you agree with me.”
“I’ll stay close if you keep me happy.”
“I’ll be your friend if you meet my expectations.”
But as soon as we mess up, as soon as we fall short,
the love stops.
We get ghosted.
We get excluded.
We get rejected.
God’s love doesn’t work that way.
Jeremiah 31:3 (NIV)
“I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.”
Let’s break that down:
Everlasting love – It didn’t start when you got your act together. It’s not going to end when you fall apart.
Unfailing kindness – God’s love is steady. It doesn’t collapse under pressure.
God says, “I’ve always loved you. I’ve never stopped pursuing you. My love doesn’t depend on your perfection—it’s anchored in My character.”
Romans 8:38–39 (ESV)
“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers,
nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Paul lists every possible force—visible and invisible—
and then declares:
Nothing can separate you from God’s love.
Not your mistakes.
Not your trauma.
Not your worst day.
Not your feelings.
Not even rejection.
Rejection Doesn’t Equal Abandonment
Let’s clear something up:
Being rejected by people
does not mean you’ve been rejected by God.
